Sauter EGP100F412 Differential Pressure Transducer 0-300 Pa

The EGP100F412 is a Sauter differential pressure transducer for gases with a 0 to 300 Pa (0 to 3.0 mbar) measuring range, a four-digit display and a run/fault LED. Its static capacitive sensor measures positive, negative and differential pressures, and it can be used for filter monitoring, room and duct pressure control or, with a flow probe, volume-flow measurement in ventilation systems.

Measuring pascals, not bars

Air-side pressures in ventilation are tiny: a few hundred pascals separate a clean filter from a clogged one and ten or twenty pascals decide whether a cleanroom or isolation room stays positive. The EGP100 is built for that regime. Two membranes record the pressure difference, a differential capacitive principle evaluates it, and the unit provides either a linear signal for pressure or a root-extracted signal that is proportional to volume flow or air speed across an orifice plate or flow probe.

Selection and ordering guide

The EGP100 family has five measuring ranges and three equipment levels: F*01 basic, F*02 with variable characteristic and LED, F*12 with display, LED and variable characteristic. Symmetrical ranges support the linear characteristic only.

Choose the range so that the normal working value sits comfortably within the lower to middle part of the scale. Output 0 to 10 V on the F*01 types; 0(2) to 10 V on F*02 and F*12.

Installation and wiring notes

• Any mounting position is allowed, but the unit is calibrated vertically, so allow for the position effect when fitting differently.
• Connect with 6 mm tubing; maximum measuring tube length is 15 m for a time constant under 0.5 s and 60 m for a time constant over 0.5 s.
• Use star wiring of the supply and do not connect inductive loads to the same transformer.
• Take the measuring-signal reference point MM from the device to the ground terminal of the analogue input.
• Zero point can be adjusted after fitting and must be re-done if the operating pressure is exceeded.
• LED: green normal; red sensor range exceeded by 40 % or fault; flashing red low voltage; orange indicates zero adjustment states.

Applications in Gulf building services and process rooms

Filter-bank monitoring on air-handling units is the volume use in the Gulf, where dust and sand load filters quickly and a differential-pressure reading shows when to change them. Differential pressure also controls laboratory, hospital and cleanroom pressure cascades and supports fan speed control through a frequency converter. The static sensor is explicitly rated for dusty air and chemically polluted air, but not for ATEX zones.

Selection and installation notes

A building automation device is selected from the signal type, the supply voltage, the mounting position and the system it connects to. Check the wiring diagram and the cable type, keep sensor cables away from power wiring, confirm the addressing or scaling in the controller, test each point at commissioning and record the final settings. Use the mounting accessories and the installation position given in the data sheet.

For differential pressure, connect the tubing to the correct ports, keep it short and free of kinks and set the zero at commissioning.
