Kübler Sendix 7020 ATEX IECEx Hollow Shaft Incremental Encoder
Description
A flameproof hollow-shaft encoder that mounts directly on the motor shaft
The Kübler Sendix 7020 is the blind hollow-shaft version of the Sendix 7000 incremental encoder with Ex protection. It is pushed onto the end of a motor or drive shaft and held by a spring element or a stator coupling, so no separate shaft coupling is needed. The housing and flange are made of seawater-durable aluminum, the diameter is 70 mm and protection is IP67.
It carries the same ATEX EU type-examination certificate (IBExU 15 ATEX 1091 X) and IECEx certificate of conformity (IECEx IBE 15.0020 X) as the shaft version, for flameproof enclosure in gas (Ex db IIC) and dust (Ex tb IIIC) atmospheres, with pulse rates up to 5000 per revolution and RS422 or push-pull outputs.

Checks before specifying a hazardous-area encoder
Compare the zone, gas or dust group, ambient temperature and rotation speed of the installation with the certificate: the temperature class depends on speed (T4 at 3000 rpm for gas, with a 120 C surface limit at 2000 rpm). The X after the certificate numbers indicates special conditions of use that the installer must read. Cable entry and gland details belong to the installation design.
