Petzl VERTEX VENT Ventilated Industrial Safety Helmet

Description

A ventilated industrial helmet certified for work at height and on the ground

The Petzl VERTEX VENT (reference A010CA00 and colour variants) is a ventilated safety helmet with a six-point textile suspension, a CENTERFIT headband adjustment with two side wheels and a FLIP&FIT system that lets the headband sit low so the helmet stays on the head. Its DUAL chinstrap has two clip positions: a high-strength setting for work at height and a low-strength setting for work on the ground, where it limits the risk of strangulation if the helmet snags. Ventilation holes with sliding shutters let the wearer adjust airflow while the helmet is worn.

It is modular: Petzl lists an eye shield with EASYCLIP side attachment, headlamp mounts and an elastic headlamp headband, a helmet protector, a nape protector, a nametag holder, a changeable chinstrap and foam, and hearing protection. It comes in seven colours and in two high-visibility versions.

Standards depend on how the helmet is set

The instructions for use are explicit that the certifications apply only in specific configurations. The helmet meets EN 12492 only when the shutters are open and the chinstrap strength is set to greater than 50 kg. It meets EN 397 and GB 2811 only when the shutters are closed and the chinstrap strength is set to less than 25 kg. Under EN 397 the optional requirements met are protection against impacts down to -30 °C, resistance to lateral deformation and, if no sticker is on top of the shell, protection against molten metal splash; the HI-VIZ model cannot meet the molten metal requirement. Because the helmet has no electrical insulation rating, do not select it for live electrical work.
