Refrigeration Valves

Refrigeration valves control, isolate and protect the refrigerant circuit in cold stores, process cooling, district cooling and HVAC chiller plants. Types of refrigeration valve in this category

Thermostatic expansion valves such as the Danfoss TE 2, TCAE and TCBE meter refrigerant into the evaporator, while electric expansion valves like the ETS, ETS Colibri and AKV give electronic superheat control. Pilot-operated servo valves (ICS, ICSH) and motor-operated valves (ICM, ICMTS) regulate pressure and flow in large industrial plants. Stop valves (SVA-S, SVA-L, SVA-DH), check valves (CHV-X, NRVA), combined check and stop valves (SCA-X) and hand regulating valves (REG-SA, REG-SB) isolate and balance the circuit. Pressure regulators such as KVP, KVL and CPCE, the HFI float valve, the ORV oil temperature valve and water valves like AVTA, WVFX and WVO complete the range.

How to select a refrigeration valve

Start with the refrigerant (R717 ammonia, R744 CO2 or an HFC/HFO), the design pressure and the line size, then choose the connection type: butt weld, socket weld or ODF solder. Size expansion and regulating valves on capacity in kW at the actual evaporating and condensing conditions, not on pipe size alone. For CO2 transcritical systems check the pressure rating of every valve, and for stainless or low temperature lines specify the body material.
