Inputs, outputs and analog signals
Four of the inputs, I-00 to I-03, are non-isolated 24V DC sink inputs that can also be configured as 0 to 10V analog inputs with 12-bit resolution. The remaining inputs I-04 to I-11 are isolated 24V DC sink/source inputs. The relay outputs are rated 2 A at 240V AC or 24V DC with a mechanical life of 10 million cycles, and there is one 0 to 10V analog output with 12-bit resolution.
Power is 24V DC (20.4 to 26.4V DC, Class 2 or limited voltage and current source). Consumption is 5.62 W without plug-ins and up to 8.5 W with plug-ins. A 10V auxiliary output is provided for a thermistor.
Mounting and environment
The controller is 90 x 104 x 75 mm, weighs 0.38 kg and has an IP20 rating, so it must be installed in a cabinet. It has a DIN rail mounting latch. The operating range is -20 to +65 °C with a T4 North American temperature code. The Micro800 selection guide also lists a remote LCD, the 2080-REMLCD, that connects to the serial port of the Micro820.
Documents and quotation
The Rockwell Automation Micro820 installation instructions are attached. They date from 2014 and describe the original 2080-LC20 family; the current Micro800 selection guide is publication 2080-SG001. See our PLC and I/O cards catalogue for related controllers and I/O. Confirm the exact catalog number, series letter and firmware or hardware revision on the product label, and the compatibility with your existing system, before ordering. Stock and lead time are confirmed at quotation.
How the 2080-LC20-20QWB Works
The 2080-LC20-20QWB runs a user program written in Connected Components Workbench, using ladder diagram, function block diagram or structured text. On each scan the controller reads its embedded inputs and any plug-in modules, executes the program and updates the relay outputs and the analog output. The embedded Ethernet port is used for programming and for communication with HMIs, drives and other devices, and the serial port can connect to devices such as a remote display or serial instruments.
Because four of the inputs can be configured as 0–10 V analog inputs and there is a 0–10 V analog output, a single Micro820 can close a simple control loop, such as a speed reference to a variable-speed drive, without extra modules. The relay outputs switch AC or DC loads directly, making the controller convenient for small panels that mix voltages.
2080-LC20-20QWB Selection & Ordering Guide
- Output type: the W in the catalog number means relay outputs. Other Micro820 20-point versions listed in the installation instructions, such as the 2080-LC20-20QBB, have transistor outputs; choose relays for mixed AC/DC loads and transistors for fast or frequent switching.
- Supply: the B at the end indicates a 24V DC power supply; the 2080-LC20-20AWB version accepts a different input type, so check the input voltage of the field devices.
- Terminal blocks: the R suffix (2080-LC20-20QWBR) provides removable terminal blocks for easier replacement.
- Expansion: plan up to two Micro800 plug-in modules for extra I/O, analog or communication functions, and the optional 2080-REMLCD remote display if an operator display is needed.
- Software: Connected Components Workbench is used for programming; confirm the version required for the controller firmware.

Installation & Maintenance
Mount the 2080-LC20-20QWB on a DIN rail or panel inside an enclosure, leaving the ventilation clearances given in the installation instructions. Feed it from a 24V DC Class 2 or limited voltage and current supply, fuse the relay output commons to suit the loads, and fit suppression across inductive AC and DC loads to extend relay life. Separate low-level analog wiring from relay and power wiring.
Keep a backup of the program and record the firmware revision. During maintenance, check terminal tightness, look at the status indicators, and replace the controller if relay contacts approach their rated electrical life on frequently switched outputs.
Typical Applications in Oman & the GCC
- Booster pump, lift station and irrigation control panels.
- Simple machine control in packaging, food and building materials plants.
- HVAC equipment, ventilation fans and chiller auxiliaries.

About brand
Catalog numbers beginning 1756, 1734, 1746 or 5069 are read at a glance by anyone who maintains Allen-Bradley control panels. The brand, the control hardware name of Rockwell Automation, dates back to 1903 in Milwaukee, USA. Seven Star LLC sources and supplies Allen-Bradley PLC and I/O modules, communication adapters and PowerFlex drives for plants in Oman, matching catalog number, series letter and firmware against the manufacturer's documentation.
Allen-Bradley product families listed here
Current controller platforms on this page are ControlLogix, with the 1756-L85E ControlLogix 5580 controller and the 1756-PA72 chassis power supply, and CompactLogix 5380, with the 5069-L320ER and 5069-L340ERM. Distributed I/O is represented by POINT I/O: the 1734-AENTR dual-port EtherNet/IP adapter and the 1734-IB8 digital input module. Allen-Bradley drives listed include the PowerFlex 525 and PowerFlex 755. For installed systems there are SLC 500 parts: the 1746-A10 chassis, 1746-NI16I analog input module, 1747-ASB remote I/O adapter, 1747-KE interface and 1747-M13 memory module.
Where Allen-Bradley hardware is used
ControlLogix and CompactLogix controllers run packaged equipment and plant utilities: compressor and pump skids, water and wastewater plants, power distribution, material handling and packaging lines. PowerFlex drives control pumps, fans and conveyors. Many SLC 500 racks are still in service.
Ordering Allen-Bradley modules and drives: what we need
Send the full catalog number, the series letter and, for controllers and communication modules, the firmware revision printed on the side label. Compatibility with an existing project depends on these. For PowerFlex drives, give the complete catalog string, which encodes voltage, current rating, enclosure and options, plus the motor nameplate data. For SLC 500 parts, tell us the rack size and processor so that we can check slot and power supply loading in the manufacturer's manuals. A label photo avoids most mistakes.
