JUMO di 308 Digital Panel Indicator with Math and Logic, 96 x 48 mm, Type 701550

Description

A 96 x 48 mm indicator that displays text, alarms and bar graphs

The JUMO di 308 (type 701550) is a microprocessor-controlled digital indicator for panel mounting in a 96 mm x 48 mm bezel. It shows temperatures in degC or degF and standard signals in plain text. Even the basic instrument carries one analog input, two binary inputs, two relay outputs, two logic outputs and a supply voltage for a 2-wire transmitter, and three expansion slots can take more inputs, outputs and interfaces.

The multicolour LCD combines a 5-digit seven-segment display, 18 mm high, for the measurement and parameters, with an 8-character 16-segment display, 7 mm high, that switches between red and green. That second line can show the value, parameter name, channel name, a running text of up to 24 characters for process or alarm messages, or a pseudo bar graph, and four status indicators show the switching state of the binary outputs. Four keys operate the unit, and a setup program configures math and logic functions and display texts.

How to order the di 308: slots, supply and extra code

The basic type 701550 includes one analog input, two binary inputs, two relays, two logic outputs and the 96 x 48 mm bezel. Basic-type extension 1 is followed by the version (8 standard with factory settings, 9 programming to customer specification) and the logic output level (1 = 0/12 V). The three option slots can be filled in any order, but the maximum number of each board must not be exceeded.

Slot code Option Max. number
0 Not used –
1 Analog input 2 (universal) 1
2 Relay output, 1 changeover 2
3 Relay output, 2 make contacts 2
4 Analog output 2
5 2 binary inputs 2
6 Solid-state relay 1 A 2
7 RS422/485 interface 1
8 PROFIBUS-DP interface 1

Supply code 23 is 110 to 240 V AC and 25 is 20 to 30 V AC/DC; extra code 214 adds the math and logic module. The order example is 701550 / 181 – 400 – 23 / 000. Delivery includes indicator, seal, mounting brackets and operating instructions B 701550.0. Accessories: PC setup program (70/00493223), TTL/RS232 interface (70/00350260) and USB/TTL interface (70/00456352).

Monitoring, alarms and where an indicator makes sense

Four limit comparators drive the relay and logic outputs, and an alarm text with green-to-red colour change appears as running text on the second display. The math and logic module, configured through the setup program, can combine inputs into calculated values. For fault conditions the outputs move to a configurable defined state: overrange and underrange are detected on all inputs, probe or lead break on thermocouple, RTD, 2 to 10 V, 4 to 20 mA and resistance-transmitter inputs, and short-circuit on RTD, 2 to 10 V and 4 to 20 mA signals.

For 2-wire RTD connections the lead resistance can be corrected in software, whereas 3-wire and 4-wire circuits need no compensation (maximum 30 ohm per lead). The instrument is built into a control panel from the front and connected at the rear with screw terminals. Typical roles are local read-out and alarming for furnace zones, tank temperatures, pressure and level transmitters in utilities and process skids, with an RS422/485 or PROFIBUS-DP link where the value must also reach a PLC.

As general guidance, record the order code printed on the nameplate before requesting a quotation, and keep the data sheet revision with the project documents so that later replacements match the installed device. Tell us the quantity, the delivery location in Oman and any wiring or mounting accessories you also need, and we will confirm availability and lead time for the exact variant.

About brand

Temperature measurement is the origin of JUMO, founded in 1948 in Fulda, Germany, as a maker of glass thermometers. Today the catalog covers sensors and transmitters for temperature, pressure, level and liquid analysis, plus controllers and recorders. Seven Star LLC lists JUMO RTD probes, pressure and differential pressure transmitters, pH, conductivity, turbidity and dissolved oxygen instruments, and sources them for plants in Oman.

JUMO product families listed

JUMO uses family names that recur across the catalog:

  • dTRANS: transmitters, including dTRANS T01 and T100 for temperature, dTRANS p02 DELTA for differential pressure, and dTRANS pH 02 and CR 02 for liquid analysis
  • Wtrans: wireless probes and transmitters, such as Wtrans T for RTD temperature and Wtrans p for pressure
  • digiLine and ecoLine: digital and optical analysis sensors, for example the digiLine O-DO S10 dissolved oxygen sensor and the ecoLine NTU turbidity sensor
  • NESOS: float-based level transmitters and switches
  • RTD temperature probes: screw-in types such as 902030 and mineral-insulated designs

Where JUMO sensors are used

JUMO sensors and transmitters are typical of food and beverage lines, water and wastewater treatment, pharmaceutical utilities, heating and cooling systems, and packaged machinery supplied to the GCC by European builders. Many requests are for a like-for-like replacement of a probe fitted by the machine maker, where length, thread and connector have to match exactly.

Ordering JUMO parts: what we need

JUMO identifies each product group by a six-digit type number, such as 902030, followed by an order code that fixes the options. The label of the delivered item normally carries a part number as well. Send whichever you have, ideally both, or a photo of the label. For JUMO temperature probes add insertion length, diameter, process connection, sensor type and wiring. For JUMO pressure sensors state range, output, process connection and electrical connector. For analysis sensors name the transmitter they connect to and the cable length.
