Cast-steel mounted spherical roller bearings with a one-piece housing
The Timken solid-block mounted spherical roller bearing is a one-piece cast-steel housing carrying a double-row Timken spherical roller bearing with a black-oxide inner ring. Unlike a split plummer block it is slid onto the shaft end, which makes it a robust, maintenance-friendly choice for metal mills, aggregate and cement, mining, power generation, sawmills, pulp and paper, sugar mills, water treatment, fans and blowers, cranes and hoists. The housing is made from cast steel with 75,000 psi tensile strength so that the bearing-to-housing fit is retained in rough service.
Timken builds units for shaft diameters from 35 mm to 380 mm (1 7/16 to 15 inch), with built-to-order manufacturing for custom configurations, and states that they interchange dimensionally with a wide range of other mounted roller bearing units. The bearing accepts a total of 1.5 degrees of misalignment, and a double-nut housing feature allows shaft expansion in both directions.

A complete number reads QM P 13 J 207 S E M NG: locking style QM (eccentric), housing style P (Type E dimension two-bolt pillow block), insert bore series 13 (22213), locking type J, shaft 207 meaning 2 7/16 inch (050 would be 50 mm), housing material S for cast steel, E for expansion (floating, blank for fixed), seal M and the additional offering NG. Further additions are NP nickel plated, XY fluoropolymer coated and FB food and beverage.
For contaminated sites combine the primary seal with a bolt-on secondary cover. The grease cavity between the primary and secondary seals can be filled for extra protection, and covers are made in steel or urethane. Where the replacement is for an existing unit, Timken advises reading the part number from the housing tag.
What to confirm before ordering
Confirm the shaft diameter and tolerance, housing style and centre height, fixed or expansion, locking style, primary and secondary seal, coating and grease. Timken suggests GR255 high-performance mounted roller bearing grease, or GR217 premium all-purpose grease, for these units. Check the shaft is clean and the unit is never welded.
