Can the Yowexa EC-900 measure coatings on both steel and aluminum?
Retailer listings describe the EC-900 as a dual-principle gauge: magnetic induction for coatings on steel and iron, and eddy current for insulating coatings on non-ferrous metals. The measuring range depends on the probe. We have not seen a manufacturer document for it, so tell us your base metals and we confirm the version in the datasheet before quoting.
What accessories should I ask for with a coating thickness gauge?
Ask for calibration foils of known thickness and uncoated zero plates for the base metals you test, since the gauge is adjusted on them before use. If your quality system needs it, also request the manufacturer's calibration certificate in the same inquiry.
