Druck PV212 Hydraulic Hand Pump, 700 bar and 1000 bar versions

Description

A dual-stage hydraulic hand pump for pressures up to 1,000 bar

The Druck PV212 is a hydraulic hand pump for generating high pressures quickly in test and calibration work. It comes in two ranges: the PV212-22 for 0 to 700 bar (10,000 psi) and the PV212-23 for 0 to 1,000 bar (15,000 psi). The dual-stage pump has a priming and high-pressure selector valve that speeds priming and reduces the effort needed at high pressure, and a built-in vernier gives fine control even at the top of the range.

A 100 cc transparent reservoir can be filled during operation, and the pump works with mineral oil or distilled water. Materials of construction are series 300 stainless steel, brass, nickel-plated brass, polyester, nitrile, polyurethane and PTFE, and an optional seal kit is available for other applications.

An optional pressure relief valve protects connected instruments and is included in the 104 and 104S test kits.

Ordering codes and kits

Build the model code as PV212, range (-22 or -23), package (-P pump only in a cardboard box with basic BSP and NPT adapters; -TK pump test kit in a transit case with adapter kit and hoses; -104 kit with a DPI104 gauge; -104S kit with a DPI104S intrinsically safe gauge), thread (-B BSP or -N NPT) and, for the 104 kits, the DPI104 range code. Examples in the datasheet are PV212-22-P and PV212-23-104S-B-16A.

Accessories and spares are ordered separately: adapter sets PV212-ADAPTORS1, 2 and 3 (BSP to BSP, BSP to NPT and NPT to NPT), transit case PV212-TC, service kit PV212-SK, HK212 hose kits in 1 m and 2 m lengths with BSP or NPT ends, relief valves PRV212-1 to -5 and fine control and handle assemblies in both ranges.

What to confirm before ordering

Select the range with margin for the device under test, state the thread type, and decide whether a relief valve is needed to protect fragile instruments. Remember that the system is hydraulic: use clean distilled water or mineral oil as stated, and plan for cleaning if instruments must be kept dry.

How the Druck PV212 works

The PV212 is a hand-operated hydraulic pump. The operator moves the lever, and a piston pushes fluid from the reservoir into the connected test system. A selector valve switches the pump between two stages. In the priming stage a large volume of fluid is moved with each stroke, which fills the hoses and the instrument quickly. In the high-pressure stage each stroke moves less fluid, so the effort at the lever stays low while the pressure climbs. A vernier at the end of the range gives fine control of the final pressure. The reservoir is transparent, so the fluid level is always visible.

Where the PV212 is used

  • Calibration of pressure gauges and transmitters in the workshop
  • Field checks of high-pressure instruments
  • Testing of pressure switches and relief valves
  • Hydrostatic tests on small pipework and components
  • Use with a DPI104 or DPI104S digital gauge in the test kits

Selection checklist for the PV212

  • Test pressure, 700 bar for the PV212-22 or 1,000 bar for the PV212-23
  • Fluid, mineral oil or distilled water, compatible with the instrument under test
  • Package, pump only, test kit, or a kit with a DPI104 or DPI104S gauge
  • Thread, BSP or NPT, and the adapters needed
  • Need for a relief valve, from 50 bar to 1,000 bar presets
  • Hose kit rated for the pressure
  • Intrinsically safe gauge for hazardous areas

Installation, commissioning and maintenance notes

Fill the reservoir with clean fluid and prime the pump before connecting the instrument. Use fittings and hoses rated for the test pressure, and keep to the minimum bend radius of the hose. Raise the pressure slowly, and use the relief valve when the instrument has a lower limit than the pump. Release the pressure fully before disconnecting. Do not mix mineral oil and water in the same system. Check the seals and the fluid level at intervals.

Please send the range, the package, the thread and the accessories needed. Seven Star LLC serves industrial customers in Oman and the GCC and replies with a quotation based on the information provided.

PV212 ordering code

The code is built from PV212, the range suffix -22 or -23, the package, and the thread, -B for BSP or -N for NPT. The datasheet gives PV212-22-P and PV212-23-104S-B-16A as examples.

PV212 relief valve

The PRV212 is made of 303 stainless steel, has a G 1/4 male inlet and is limited to 1,000 bar. The presets are 50, 200, 400, 700 and 1,000 bar.

PV212 hose kit

The HK212 hose kit uses stainless steel and nylon. It has a working pressure of 1,000 bar and a minimum burst pressure of 2,500 bar.

PV212 size and materials

The pump measures 23 x 16 x 7 cm and weighs about 1.6 kg. It uses stainless steel, brass, polyester, nitrile, polyurethane and PTFE.
