Description
An Ethernet servo amplifier for PLC-controlled axes
The Mitsubishi Electric MR-JE-C is the Ethernet-compatible amplifier of the MELSERVO-JE family. A single RJ45 port on CN1 connects it to a master station or a GOT over 100BASE-TX, and it understands CC-Link IE Field Network Basic, SLMP and MODBUS/TCP, with MODBUS RTU on the RS-485 port. That removes the pulse wiring between a PLC and each axis: positions, speeds and torques travel as network messages.
It supports the CiA 402 drive profile with profile position, velocity and torque modes plus homing, and it can position by itself with a point table or an indexer method, for example dividing a rotary table into equal stations. Its sizes, power stage and 17-bit encoder match the MR-JE-A, so only the command interface differs.

Network planning and ordering notes
For a multi-axis machine, connect several MR-JE-C amplifiers through a switching hub; MR Configurator2 can treat them as one project and adjust or test each axis by changing the axis number. The catalogue lists the IP address filtering function, which stops unregistered devices from changing parameters, and an operation-specification address that allows one master to send commands while others only monitor. These settings should be planned before commissioning.
Software version matters: MODBUS/TCP needs version A3 or later, and MODBUS RTU and the positioning mode need A4 or later. Command pulse input is available with sink wiring only on the C model. Motors are the same as with the A model: HG-KN for 0.1 to 0.75 kW and HG-SN for 0.5 to 3 kW, and the amplifier size and motor must be matched in the combination table.
