Description
Compact finned LED floodlight in four sizes for Zone 1 and Zone 21 areas
The Cortem EVL-40 series is a range of LED floodlights for gas Zones 1 and 2 and dust Zones 21 and 22, in four body sizes. Cortem says the floodlights can replace traditional floodlights with low and medium power discharge lamps, and combine a light, compact body with high-efficiency LED plates and a lens that gives a 40 degree viewing angle.
The fixture is marked II 2GD Ex db eb op is IIC T… Gb and Ex tb op is IIIC T…°C Db, with ATEX certificate EPT 19 ATEX 3323 X and IECEx SEV 19.0043X. It can be fed by an ordinary cable and an Ex e gland, without a barrier, and an opposed plugged hole is available for through wiring. The shock-resistant tempered glass is rated IK11.

Several larger power steps are limited to 40 degrees C ambient, shown as N/A for 50 and 60 degrees C in the chart, so check the chart for the actual site ambient.
Accessories and installation
Accessories listed include a dimmer, higher CRI or different colour temperature on request, a U-bolt for pole mounting, an eyebolt, a pole cover with direct connection, stanchion mounting with fixed 25 degree orientation, and an extra NAV20SIB gland for unarmoured cable. The driver provides over-voltage, over-current and short-circuit protection, and dimming is available by 0-10 V, PWM or resistor on request.
Install to EN 60079-14, choose the size so that the maximum surface temperature in the chart stays below the ignition temperature of the gas or dust present, and use certified glands and plugs. Keep the certificates and the temperature class selection with the plant records.
