Micronics product series
Fixed meters include the U1000MKII-FM clamp-on meter with integrated transducers and the UF3300 fixed clamp-on meter. Portable meters include the Portaflow 333 flow and heat meter and the Portaflow D650 Doppler meter.
Transit-time meters such as the U1000MKII and Portaflow 333 suit clean or slightly dirty liquids, while Doppler meters like the D650 need particles or bubbles in the flow and suit slurries and wastewater. Heat meter functions combine flow with supply and return temperatures to calculate energy in heating and chilled water circuits.

When is a Doppler meter such as the Portaflow D650 the right choice?
A Doppler meter needs particles or gas bubbles in the liquid to reflect the ultrasound, so it suits slurries, sewage and aerated flows. Clean liquids such as chilled water or treated water call for a transit-time meter like the Portaflow 333 or the U1000MKII. Describe the liquid in your inquiry and we will check the choice.
What is the difference between the U1000MKII-FM and the U1000MKII-HM?
The FM version is a fixed clamp-on flow meter. The HM version is a clamp-on heat and energy meter, which adds temperature measurement on flow and return pipes to calculate energy. Both exist as WM variants with a wall-mounted keypad and display for pipes that are hard to reach.
Which pipe data does Micronics need to size a meter?
Outside diameter, wall thickness, pipe material and any lining, together with the liquid and its temperature. Each model covers a set pipe range, so the diameter decides the model variant and the transducers. Photos of the pipe section help us spot insulation, bends or valves that affect the mounting position.
Can Micronics meters be used in hazardous areas?
Micronics lists the UX5000 as its hazardous area flowmeter. The other meters named here are for safe areas. If the measuring point is in a classified zone, state the zone and gas group, and we will request the model and certificate details from the manufacturer's documentation before quoting.
