Airpax

The Airpax name appears on two quite different kinds of hardware: magnetic speed pickups fitted to engines, turbines and gearboxes, and circuit breakers and thermal protectors used inside equipment. Seven Star LLC lists Airpax speed probes, both magnetic and non-contact rotational types, and sources them for maintenance teams in Oman and the GCC who need a like-for-like replacement on rotating machinery.

Both listed items are speed probes that read a toothed wheel or gear without touching it. A magnetic pickup of this kind produces a pulse each time a ferrous tooth passes the pole piece, and the pulse frequency follows shaft speed. Tachometers, governors and overspeed trip units use that signal. The Airpax speed sensor line is sold today under the AI-Tek Instruments name, so current parts may carry either name.

Ordering an Airpax speed sensor: what we need

Speed pickups look alike but are not interchangeable. Please send:

• The full part number printed on the sensor body, or a clear photo of it
• Thread size, threaded length and overall length
• Connector type or lead length
• The gear tooth count or module and the device the signal feeds

With these we check the Airpax speed sensor against the manufacturer’s data before quoting.
