Installation and maintenance

• Mount the drive on a vertical wall or panel plate with the clearance above and below given in the hardware manual, so the 43 m3/h cooling air flow is not restricted.
• Respect the 100 m maximum recommended motor cable length; longer runs need an output filter and a check against the manual.
• Use the recommended 16 A gG fuses (or 15 A Class T for UL installations) on the supply side.
• Use symmetrical shielded motor cable and terminate the shield properly for EMC.

A 4 kW ACS580 is a common choice for HVAC fans, chilled water pumps, small booster sets and process extraction fans. In hot, dusty locations the IP21 standard enclosure is best installed inside a cooled panel or plant room; where the drive must stand in a harsher room, the IP55 variant mentioned above is the more suitable option. Above the rated ambient temperature the output current must be derated as described in the hardware manual, so a margin on current is worth planning for outdoor kiosks.
