Brand:

Sensus 620 Volumetric Water Meter Dry Dial DN 15-40

Description

The Sensus 620 is a volumetric (piston) water meter with a dry dial register for cold water from 0.1 to 50 degC, available in DN 15 to DN 40 at PN 16. Its piston measuring chamber is designed so that even small drops of water are counted, and the data sheet describes a small pressure drop, high resistance to impurities and quiet operation. It is the traditional choice for domestic and small commercial supply connections where accuracy at very low flow and tolerance of dirt in the water both matter.

Dry dial register and AMR readiness

The dial has eight drums, five for cubic metres and three for litres, with one pointer and a central disc whose rotation shows the passage of water, which can reveal a downstream leak. The plastic dial has a wiper for legibility, or a sealed metal and glass register that does not fog can be fitted, giving IP68. The register is prepared for AMR, so an HRI electronic sensor in the form of a pulse unit or data unit can be added, and Sensus lists connectors and a non-return valve as further options. All gears sit in the dry register, which removes any risk of blockage from suspended particles, and the tamper-proof design is intended for a long service life. The meter works in any installed position and the register can be rotated up to 350 degrees.

Selecting a size

Pick the size from the permanent flow Q3 and the thread: the tails are G3/4B on DN 15, G1B on DN 20, G1 1/4B on DN 25, G1 1/2B on DN 32 and G2B on DN 40, with several lay lengths for DN 15 to DN 25 as options. The table above gives Q1 and Q2 minimum and transitional flows for the highest ratio per size; the MID seal can be supplied with a ratio R up to 315, and up to 400 for Q3 2.5 as the sheet notes. The sheet’s head loss curve is useful for sizing against available pressure. Confirm the register type, the AMR option and the approvals your supply authority requires; the listed certificates are European.

About brand

Sensus is a water and thermal energy metering manufacturer whose Sensus International business is based in Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Germany. Its range runs from static electromagnetic and ultrasonic meters such as iPERL and Cordonel to volumetric, multijet, turbine and compound meters, with SensusRF radio for fixed-network and walk-by or drive-by reading. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, lists Sensus meters that are backed by the manufacturer data sheets.\n\n

Sensus meter technologies

\n\nSensus International states that it is one of the few global manufacturers offering both leading static metering technologies, electromagnetic and ultrasonic, alongside traditional mechanical meters. Piston meters such as the 620 and 640, the 420 multijet and the DomoJet single jet cover residential and sub-metering duty, while the WP-Dynamic turbine, the WPV-MS compound meter and the MeiStream Plus bulk meter serve larger flows.\n\n

What we need to quote a Sensus meter

\n\nSend the DN, connection or flange drilling, lay length, ratio, temperature class, the approvals your utility requires (MID, OIML R49, ISO 4064 or potable water approvals) and the radio protocol. Note that the North American iPERL+ is documented in US units and standards, separately from the international range.
