1. Who we are

This website, omansevenstar.com, is operated by Seven Star LLC, No 26 First Alley, 83 St, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. Seven Star LLC is the controller of the personal data described in this policy.

2. Data we collect

Data you give us

• Inquiry and contact forms: your name, company, email address, phone number and the details of your request (brand, part number, quantity, message).
• Supplier and Marketplace forms: name, company, website, email address, country and the brands or products you supply or need.
• Account: if you create an account, your name, email address and a password, which is stored in encrypted (hashed) form.
• Messages: anything you send us by email, phone or WhatsApp.
• Product reviews: the name, email address and text you submit with a review.

Data collected automatically

• Server and security logs: IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. These are processed by our hosting provider and by Cloudflare, which protects and speeds up the site.
• Usage statistics: pages viewed, the page you came from, approximate location (country or city), device and browser type.
• Interaction data: Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used (clicks, scrolling, mouse movement) so that we can find and fix usability problems. Text typed into form fields is masked by Clarity and is not visible to us in those recordings.

We do not ask for and do not want sensitive personal data (for example health data or government ID numbers). Please do not include it in your messages.

3. How we use your data

• To answer your inquiry, identify the correct part and prepare a quotation.
• To process an order and its documents once you accept a quotation.
• To run the Marketplace: matching buyer requests with registered suppliers of the requested brand.
• To create and manage your account.
• To keep the website secure, prevent spam and abuse, and fix errors.
• To understand which pages are useful and improve the content and layout of the site.
• To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We do not use your data for automated decisions that have legal effects on you, and we do not send marketing emails unless you asked for them.

4. Legal basis

We process personal data in line with the Personal Data Protection Law of Oman (Royal Decree 6/2022). Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies to a visitor, we rely on: steps taken at your request before a contract (answering inquiries and quotations), performance of a contract (orders), our legitimate interest in running and securing a business website and understanding how it is used, your consent where it is required, and legal obligations.

5. Who we share data with

We share personal data only as far as needed for the purposes above:

• Manufacturers and suppliers: to obtain an offer we pass on the technical details of your request. We pass on your contact details only when this is needed to fulfil the request, for example for an end-user statement or a direct shipment.
• Service providers that work for us: website hosting, Cloudflare (content delivery and security), our email service, and our own automation server that routes form submissions to the right team.
• Analytics and security tools: Google (Google Analytics, reCAPTCHA), Microsoft (Clarity).
• Authorities: when the law requires it.

We do not sell or rent personal data.

6. International transfers

Some of the providers above, including Google, Microsoft and Cloudflare, process data on servers outside Oman, including in the United States and the European Union. Suppliers and manufacturers we contact for your request may also be located in other countries. By sending us a request you understand that the data needed to handle it may be transferred to those countries.

7. How long we keep data

• Inquiries, quotations and order records: kept for as long as needed to handle the request and afterwards as part of our business records, for the period required by commercial and tax law.
• Account data: kept until you ask us to delete the account.
• Analytics data: kept in aggregated form. Data held by Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity is kept for the retention periods set by those services.
• Security logs: kept for a short period and then deleted or overwritten.

8. Your rights

You can ask us to:

• tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy;
• correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
• delete your data, or stop using it, where we have no legal reason to keep it;
• withdraw a consent you gave.

Send your request to [email protected]. We answer within 30 days. If you believe we handled your data unlawfully you may complain to the data protection authority of your country; in Oman this is the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.

9. Cookies

This site uses a small number of cookies for login, security and analytics. They are listed, with instructions for blocking them, in our Cookie Policy.

10. Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and sits behind a web application firewall. Access to inquiry and customer data is limited to the staff who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we will tell you and the competent authority if a breach affects your data as required by law.

11. Children

This is a business-to-business website. It is not directed at persons under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

12. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our tools or practices change. The date at the top shows the latest version. Significant changes are announced on this page.
