Description
A duplex filter that changes elements without shutdown
The MP Filtri MLDX and MLDC series are low pressure, high capacity duplex filters with an integrated changeover function. A single lever or a handwheel switches flow between two housings, so an element can be replaced without stopping the system. They are mainly meant for industrial lubrication systems, off-line filtration of reservoirs and large filtration skids. MP Filtri gives a maximum working pressure of 1.6 MPa (16 bar) and a flow rate up to 8700 l/min.
Flanged connections to EN 1092-1 go up to DN200 for MLDX and DN100 for MLDC. MLDX uses the LPX element with the MYclean interface; MLDC uses the MRC element. Multiple elements fit in parallel in each housing, which lowers the pressure drop and raises the dust-holding capacity.

How the changeover works
One housing is in service while the other is on standby. Before switching, the balancing valve equalizes the pressure in the standby housing, and vent ports let trapped air out so it does not enter the system. The lever or handwheel then moves the flow across, and the spent element can be removed from the idle housing, where a drain port empties it before maintenance. Handled elements have a handle to simplify replacement.
For high flows, several elements can be installed in parallel in the one housing. Size the filter from the flow, the oil viscosity and the allowed clean pressure drop shown in the catalogue curves, then choose the media for the lubrication or hydraulic cleanliness class.
What to confirm before ordering
State the model size, flow, viscosity, flange size, number of elements, media and rating, bypass setting, indicator and any PED documentation required. Confirm that a duplex layout is needed rather than a single housing. More filtration hardware is listed under filter housings.
