Wilo-Atmos GIGA-N Norm Pump

Description

A back pull-out EN 733 norm pump for building services and industrial circulation

The Wilo-Atmos GIGA-N is a single-stage, back pull-out centrifugal pump with a spiral housing for horizontal installation, with power and dimensions in accordance with EN 733. Wilo intends the glanded pump as a circulator in building services: hot-water heating, cooling and cold-water circulation, drinking water systems (special version), industrial circulation, heat carrier circuits and irrigation. It is supplied as a complete unit with baseplate, coupling and coupling guard, with or without an electric motor, or as a pump by itself on a bearing bracket.

Installation and operation notes

The manual describes mounting the pump on a base, pipework, alignment of the coupling, electrical connection, filling and venting, checking direction of rotation, and the permissible forces and torques on the pump flanges. Heat-resistant mains cable is required where the fluid exceeds 90 degC. Typical installation is in plant rooms within a building; the pump should not be installed in occupied rooms. Sound pressure levels for standard 50 Hz and 60 Hz pumps are tabulated by motor power.

What to confirm before ordering

Select the exact GIGA-N size with the Wilo type key from the required flow, head, fluid and temperature, and confirm motor power and poles, frequency, mechanical seal and whether a complete unit or bare pump is required. Wilo documents the GIGA-N rating data on the pump rating plate rather than in the manual, so selection data must come from Wilo. Related Wilo pumps on this site include the Wilo-Helix V; see Pumps for more.

About brand

Chilled water loops, booster sets and heating circuits are the natural home of Wilo pumps. The Dortmund company has been in business since 1872 and builds pumps for building services, water management and industry. Seven Star LLC supplies Wilo pumps to MEP contractors and facility teams in Oman. Two series are listed on this page: the Wilo-Helix V vertical multistage pump and the Wilo-Stratos MAXO glandless circulator.

Wilo pump series listed here

The Wilo-Helix V is a vertical multistage centrifugal pump with stainless steel wetted parts and in-line connections, used where pressure has to be raised: water supply and pressure boosting, washing systems, closed cooling circuits and industrial circulation. The Wilo-Stratos MAXO is a glandless circulator with an electronically commutated motor and built-in control functions for heating, air conditioning and cooling circuits. It is also made as a twin-head version (MAXO-D) and as a drinking water version (MAXO-Z).

Ordering Wilo pumps: what we need

For a replacement, send the full type key and article number from the pump nameplate, plus the motor data plate for a Helix V. For a new selection we need the duty point (flow and head), fluid and temperature, system pressure, connection size and pressure rating, and the electrical supply. For a Stratos MAXO, also state whether a communication module for the building management system is required. We supply to projects across the GCC and check each type key against Wilo documentation.
