HIWIN EGH-CA Low Profile Linear Guideway Block and Rail
Description
The HIWIN EGH-CA is the square, heavy load block of the EG series, a low profile ball linear guideway for axes where height and moving mass are limited. EG blocks keep the four-row circular-arc design of the HG series but have a lower assembled height and a shorter body, which suits high-speed automation machines, pick-and-place axes and measuring equipment.
A low profile guideway for compact, fast axes
The catalog describes the EG series as combining a low profile with high load capacity and high rigidity. The block has equal load ratings in the radial, reverse radial and lateral directions and is self-aligning, so it absorbs installation error and still reaches higher accuracies. A retainer holds the balls in the block when it is taken off the rail.
HIWIN lists automation devices, high-speed transportation equipment, precision measuring equipment and semiconductor manufacturing equipment as main applications. The flange EGW blocks add a wide mounting face for moment loads, and the S (medium load) blocks are shorter again where space is tight.

Ordering code, preload and selection
The EG model number follows the same order as HG: series, block type, size, load type, block mounting (A from top, B from bottom), blocks per rail, rail mounting, rail length, accuracy, preload, number of rails per axis and dust protection. Interchangeable blocks and rails are offered in C, H and P accuracy and Z0 or ZA preload, so a rail can be ordered separately from the block.
Z0 is for a constant load direction with low impact, ZA for low load and high precision, and ZB where rigidity under vibration is needed. The catalog asks for the grease to be checked every 100 km or every 3 to 6 months. The QE series with SynchMotion shares the identical rail with EG, which helps when you move from one to the other. Before ordering, confirm the size, block type, preload, accuracy, rail length with E values and dust protection, and quote the model number on the label of the part you replace.
