Allweiler ALLFUEL AFI Horizontal Screw Pump for Fuels and Oils
Description
Compact screw pump for heating oil, fuel and lube oil duty
The Allweiler ALLFUEL AFI is a three-screw, self-priming screw pump for heating oils, fuels including low-sulfur ship fuel and marine diesel, lubrication oils, hydraulic oils and other lubricating liquids. The liquids may not contain abrasive components or chemically attack the pump material. The spec sheet (2016.06, Ident-No. 488130) covers the AFI horizontal and vertical configurations without integrated filter.
ALLFUEL pumps are used as transfer, booster and burner operation pumps in oil-fired systems, as transfer pumps in marine fuel systems, as feeder and filling pumps in tank systems, as lube-oil pumps in nearly all areas of industry and in oil hydraulic systems. A single pump and motor assembly gives a compact installation, and the hardened and polished screws form an insert unit that can be exchanged quickly without removing the pump housing from the pipework.

Selection and installation
The size code gives the pump size and screw pitch, so 20-46 means size 20 with a 46 degree pitch angle at 1450 1/min theoretical capacity. Check the achievable pressure against the viscosity and speed in the reference curves, and the NPSH values: the sheet lists 2.5 m at low viscosity and 950 to 1750 1/min and higher at 750 mm2/s and speed.
Do not install the pump with the flanges pointing down, and a vertical motor-down arrangement is not permitted. A separate system filter is essential with the no-filter AFI pumps, or the AFI-F version should be selected. The spec sheet also explains that a mechanical seal has a small standard leak, so a magnetically coupled ALLFUEL version is the alternative where no leakage can be accepted.
Related pumps and what to confirm
For another Allweiler lube-oil screw pump see the Allweiler TRILUB TRL V16-40R41 screw pump. Confirm the fuel type (for HFO or low-sulphur MGO or MDO the sheet recommends specific material codes), pump speed, working pressure and heating need before an RFQ. More pumps are in the pump category.
Documents and quotation
The ALLFUEL spec sheet can be downloaded on this page. Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat; send your RFQ with the pump nameplate, fuel or oil grade, flow, pressure and motor details so the code can be checked against the manufacturer document.

About brand
Allweiler has made pumps since 1860 and is based in Radolfzell, Germany. The name is closely tied to three-screw pumps for lubricating and fuel oils, next to centrifugal and progressing cavity pumps. Seven Star LLC lists the Allweiler TRILUB TRL screw pump and supplies Allweiler pumps and spare parts to power plants, marine operators and process plants in Oman as an independent supplier.
Allweiler TRILUB screw pumps
TRILUB is Allweiler's name for a family of three-screw pumps built for lubricating and hydraulic oil service. One driven screw meshes with two idler screws inside a liner and moves the oil axially with little pulsation, which suits lube oil circuits of turbines, compressors, gearboxes and diesel engines. The listed TRL V16-40R41 is a complete pump from this family. Buyers who search for Allweiler oil pumps are usually looking for this kind of unit, in the GCC as elsewhere.
Ordering Allweiler pumps and parts: what we need
Send the full type designation and the serial or order number from the nameplate. For a complete pump add the oil grade and viscosity, flow, discharge pressure, speed and motor data. For parts, name the item needed, such as the screw set, liner, mechanical seal or bearing.
