Compact stainless steel multistage pump for pressure boosting and process water

The Lowara e-HM is a non-self-priming horizontal multistage centrifugal pump with an axial threaded suction and a radial threaded discharge. Xylem builds it in two mechanical configurations: a compact design for 1HM, 3HM and 5HM models up to six stages, with a single-piece stainless steel pump body bolted to the motor flange and one O-ring; and a sleeve design for 7 stages and above and for all 10HM, 15HM and 22HM models, with a TIG-welded external stainless steel sleeve held by tie rods. The brochure positions the range for building services (water supply, pressure boosting, heating and cooling, small irrigation) and for industry (washing and cleaning machines, cooling and heating circuits, water treatment and filtration). A version suitable for contact with drinking water is available.

The model code reads, for example, 10HME03S15M02VBEXXX: flow rating in m3/h, series HM, motor operation (blank for standard, E for e-SM drive, X or K for hydrovar), number of impellers, material (P, S or N), motor and voltage details, then the seal code and connection and general-specification letters (V for Victaulic, S for motor heater, U for UL approved, F for internal flushing of the mechanical seal).

Selection and what to confirm before ordering

Give the duty flow and head, liquid and temperature, suction condition (the pump is not self-priming), supply voltage, and whether fixed speed or a drive version is needed. Choose HM..N where chlorides or aggressive cleaning agents are expected, and confirm seal material against the liquid. The brochure notes that the horizontal multistage range is outside the scope of the EU ErP pump regulation, while the motors follow the IE efficiency classes. Xylem works in water: pumps, treatment equipment and the instruments that measure water quality. Its products reach the market under several brand names, and the two on this page are YSI for water quality sondes and Lowara for pumps. The company was formed in 2011 and is based in Washington, D.C., USA. Seven Star LLC sources and supplies Xylem equipment for utilities, laboratories and contractors in Oman and the GCC.

The YSI EXO2 is a multiparameter sonde for unattended water quality monitoring. YSI describes it with seven universal sensor ports, one of them for a central antifouling wiper, powered by four D-cell batteries. With the matching sensors it reports temperature, conductivity, optical dissolved oxygen, pH, ORP, turbidity, algae pigments, fDOM and depth, among others. The sonde is sold as an instrument only; sensors and cables are separate items. Lowara pumps are listed as well, including the e-NSC, e-HM and e-SV models and the intelligent pump range.

Ordering Xylem equipment: what we need

For an EXO2, list the sensors required, the cable length, the depth option and whether a handheld or a data logger will read it. For a Lowara pump, send the full type from the nameplate, or the duty point: flow, head, liquid, temperature, motor power and supply voltage. A nameplate photo is best for a replacement pump.
