Emerson Micro Motion ELITE CMF Coriolis Flow Meter
Overview
The Emerson Micro Motion ELITE CMF is a peak-performance Coriolis flow and density meter engineered to deliver proven measurement confidence across liquid, gas, and slurry applications. Combining industry-leading accuracy with auditable reliability and broad application coverage, the Micro Motion ELITE CMF provides highly accurate mass flow, density, volume, and temperature measurement even under challenging process conditions such as entrained gas and multiphase flow, conditions that compromise lesser Coriolis technologies.
As the official authorized partner and exclusive regional representative for Emerson, Seven Star LLC proudly supplies the Micro Motion ELITE CMF to refineries, petrochemical plants, and process industries throughout the Sultanate of Oman and the wider GCC. Every meter shipped carries full manufacturer warranty and the regional calibration and technical support that custody-transfer and process-critical measurement demand.
Measurement Principle
The Emerson Micro Motion ELITE CMF measures mass flow directly using the Coriolis effect: process fluid flows through curved vibrating tubes, and the inertia created by the moving mass causes the tubes to twist by an amount directly proportional to mass flow rate. Because the tube’s vibration frequency also shifts with the density of the fluid inside it, the same sensor simultaneously delivers a true density measurement alongside an integrated temperature reading, all without separate instrumentation or the need for straight-run piping.
Smart Meter Verification allows technicians to confirm the sensor and electronics are performing to original factory specifications in real time, without interrupting the process or removing the meter from the line. This built-in diagnostic capability, combined with a rugged, ultra-stable sensor design, reduces operational risk and supports long-term measurement integrity even under demanding entrained-gas and multiphase flow conditions.
Accuracy and Performance
Published performance for the Emerson Micro Motion ELITE CMF (Emerson product data sheet PS-00374) rates premium-accuracy variants at ±0.05% of rate on liquid mass and liquid volume flow, standard variants at ±0.10% of rate, and gas mass flow at ±0.25% of rate. Density is specified to ±0.2 kg/m³ (±0.0002 g/cm³) with premium density calibration, or ±0.5 kg/m³ as standard, and the integrated process temperature reading to ±1 °C ±0.5% of reading with 0.2 °C repeatability. That performance is delivered through Emerson’s MVD multivariable digital transmitter platform, whose digital signal processing provides the fast response and update rates that short batch cycles and transient two-phase conditions demand, across line sizes from DN2 (0.1 in.) up to DN250–DN300 (10–14 in.).
Engineering Design of the Emerson Micro Motion ELITE CMF
The Micro Motion ELITE CMF platform supports operating temperatures from -454°F (-270°C) to 800°F (426°C) and pressures up to 6,000 psig (414 barg), covering everything from cryogenic LNG service to high-pressure chemical injection. Sensor construction is available in 316L and 304L stainless steel, C22 nickel alloy, and super duplex materials to match the corrosion resistance and process compatibility each application demands, with extensive line-size, transmitter, and mounting options to fit varied installation requirements.
Communication is provided through HART, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, and FOUNDATION Fieldbus, along with Smart Wireless connectivity, enabling seamless integration into both new and existing control systems. The Micro Motion ELITE CMF is backed by the industry’s broadest portfolio of approvals and certifications, supporting global deployment across custody transfer, process control, batching, blending, loading and unloading, cryogenic, and hygienic applications.

Industrial Applications
The Emerson Micro Motion ELITE CMF is deployed extensively across oil and gas, chemical, refining, and power generation industries wherever accurate, direct mass flow and density measurement is required regardless of viscosity, entrained gas, or multiphase conditions. In Oman’s LNG and refining sector, the ELITE CMF’s cryogenic-rated variants are specified for liquefied natural gas custody transfer and high-pressure hydrogen dispensing where measurement integrity is commercially critical.
As the officially authorized partner for Emerson, Seven Star LLC distributes the Micro Motion ELITE CMF to petrochemical complexes, chemical injection systems, and process plants across Muscat and the Sohar and Salalah economic zones. Its broad approvals portfolio and multi-protocol connectivity make it a strong fit for both custody-transfer metering and process control loops throughout the GCC’s oil, gas, and chemical processing sector.
Approvals and Commissioning Notes
The Emerson Micro Motion ELITE CMF carries hazardous-area certification under the ATEX (II 2G/2D/3G/3D), IECEx, CSA and NEPSI schemes, with SIL 2 and SIL 3 rated options available for safety instrumented functions, and custody-transfer approvals including OIML R117 and R137, the European MID, NTEP and Measurement Canada. The ELITE sensor pairs with the 1500/2500, 1600, 1700/2700, 3500/3700, 4200, 4700 and 5700 transmitter families, which differ in their I/O, display and protocol options. Seven Star LLC recommends fixing the transmitter, sensor material and process connection together at the enquiry stage so that calibration certificates, Ex documentation and control-system interfacing all match the plant requirement on arrival.
