Technical Overview
The Brüel & Kjær Vibro VIBROCONTROL 1000 is a compact, standalone, single-channel machinery protection monitor from the manufacturer’s legacy VC 1000 series, distinct from the newer VIBROCONTROL 1100 series. Per Brüel & Kjær Vibro’s own product documentation, the VC 1000 series was offered in three variants addressing different measurement types: Series C monitors overall machine or bearing-housing case vibration using electrodynamic velocity sensors mounted horizontally, vertically, or axially, measuring RMS vibration velocity and peak displacement; Series R monitors radial shaft vibration relative to the bearing using two non-contacting proximity sensors positioned 90 degrees apart, computing Smax per DIN ISO 7919 or MAX(x,y) per API 670; and Series A monitors axial shaft position using a single non-contacting displacement sensor.
Confirmed measurement ranges across the series are vibration velocity 0–100 mm/s, vibration displacement 0–1000 µm, and frequency response 10–1000 Hz depending on the sensor used, with an accuracy of ±5% of measured value plus 3% of full scale. Alert and danger alarm levels are adjustable from 10 to 100% of full scale, with relay time-delay options of 1, 3, or 10 seconds, or 30 milliseconds, and relay contacts configurable as normally-energized or normally-de-energized, latching or non-latching. Analogue output is available as 0/4–20 mA or 0–10 V. Power supply accepts 230V or 115V AC, or 24V DC. The unit is housed in a rugged, IP65-rated aluminium enclosure weighing approximately 2.1 kg, rated for an operating temperature of 0°C to +65°C (storage −40°C to +100°C) and up to 95% relative humidity non-condensing — suitable for direct field mounting on the monitored machine.
Seven Star LLC confirms, per Brüel & Kjær Vibro’s own current product status statement, that only the Series C (CV) variant remains on sale in current production, while Series R (RV) and Series A (AP) variants are still supported for existing installations but are being phased out for new orders. Seven Star LLC’s own catalogue separately lists the related VIBROCONTROL 1000 CV110 product, consistent with Series C being the currently available configuration.
Applications
VC 1000 series monitors protect ventilators, fans, compressors, centrifuges, turbines, generators, mills, and pumps in general industrial service, providing standalone overall-vibration or shaft-position trip protection without requiring integration into a larger rack-based monitoring system.
Why Seven Star LLC
Brüel & Kjær Vibro’s current-generation compact monitor successors to the VC 1000 series include the VIBROCONTROL 960 and VIBROCONTROL 1860 (with optional field housings), the broader VC-6000 platform, and the VT-110/VT-120 vibration transmitters and DT-120 displacement transmitter for simpler transmitter-based replacement of Series C, R, and A functions respectively. Seven Star LLC helps customers across Oman and the GCC determine whether their application still supports the legacy VC 1000 Series C, or whether migrating to a current-generation successor better serves their long-term maintenance strategy.
