Miller XR-Aluma-Pro Push-Pull MIG Gun for Aluminium Supplied by Seven Star LLC

TIG Torches & MIG Guns

TIG torches and MIG guns deliver current, shielding gas and, for MIG, the wire to the arc, so their condition and specification directly affect weld quality and arc stability. For TIG, key points are rated current, air or water cooling, flexible or rigid head, gas lens versus standard collet body, and the tungsten type and diameter. Water-cooled torches are used for continuous high-current welding on pressure piping and in hot ambient conditions.

MIG guns are chosen by amperage rating, duty cycle, cooling type, neck angle and length, and the wire diameter and type, since a steel liner suits steel wire while a low-friction liner suits aluminium. Consumable parts such as contact tips, nozzles, diffusers and liners wear and should be replaced on schedule to avoid erratic feeding and porosity. Connector compatibility with the power source or feeder must be confirmed before ordering.

Seven Star LLC supplies torches and guns to match the machines it provides; send the machine model and application. They work with MIG/MAG welding machines, TIG welding machines and multi-process welding machines, and use wire from solid welding wire, flux-cored welding wire and TIG welding wire. Protect the welder with welding helmets and face protection. See all welding accessories and safety.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose a MIG gun?
Match the connector to your feeder, then choose the amperage rating, duty cycle, length and cooling type for the job and wire.
When should I use a water-cooled TIG torch?
Use water cooling for continuous high-current welding or hot conditions, since it keeps the torch cooler and lighter at high amperage.
What parts wear on a MIG gun?
Contact tips, nozzles, diffusers and liners are the main wear parts and should be replaced regularly.
Which liner should I use?
Steel liners suit steel and stainless wire. Low-friction polymer liners suit softer wire like aluminium.
What is a gas lens?
A gas lens improves shielding gas flow, giving better coverage and allowing a longer tungsten stick-out in tight joints.
