Measurement Principle

The KROHNE OPTIFLUX 2300 operates on Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction: a magnetic field is applied across the measuring tube, and as conductive liquid flows through it, a voltage proportional to the flow velocity is induced and detected by a pair of measuring electrodes. KROHNE’s patented virtual reference grounding method eliminates the need for separate grounding rings in many installations, reducing both installation cost and complexity while maintaining measurement stability.
